Join us in Richmond for a Screening of “Resilience” 12/4!

Posted:  -  By: Emily Griffey

Our partners at Greater Richmond SCAN will host a screening of the documentary “Resilience” from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 4,  at the Byrd Theatre in Richmond.

This short documentary covers the scientific research behind identifying Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and introduces new interventions and policy solutions that help to prevent and/or mitigate childhood trauma. In the documentary you will learn from pediatricians, researchers, mental health professionals, educators, and community leaders about opportunities to promote resilience in young children and families and to prevent childhood trauma. If you are interested in playing a role in the movement to promote resilience in Richmond and to help our policymakers create trauma-informed policies, we encourage you to attend.

After the screening, join staff of Greater Richmond SCAN, Voices, and Delegate Chris Peace to learn about how to take these ideas to shape local and state policy and how you can be involved in making a difference.
